Transfer Requests
Arriving in the middle of the night at a foreign airport can be an intimidating experience - especially when you're faced with a bank of aggressive taxi touts. To simplify matters: Octopus Travel has launched an online private transfer booking service covering more than 250 destinations, so you can book a car (or even a limo) from the comfort of your own computer, to whisk you from airport to hotel. Plus points: you don't have to book in conjunction with a flight reservation; you can specify the languages spoken by your driver. The site gives estimated transfer times, you pay up front (so no local currency worries); and the pickup agent has your flight number, so will be aware of delays. www.octopustravel.com
